Food can become a major expense at a wedding reception, and coming up with affordable wedding food ideas is difficult. Doing a large Charcuterie and Cheese board is the perfect solution for saving money. You can use these boards for the cocktail hour, or as the main meal at the reception. You can add little appetizers throughout the board as well. I did mini caprese bites with mine.

CREATING THE WEDDING CHARCUTERIE AND CHEESE BOARD – WEDDING FOOD IDEAS
STEP 1: Get a large piece of wood from a home improvement store. This was 8 ft x 2 ft. Then my husband cut it in half to create two boards.
STEP 2: Sand the boards down really well.
STEP 3: Stain the boards the color you would like. I chose a light walnut stain.
STEP 4: Use a FOOD SAFE sealer. High quality wood stores carry different types of food safe sealers. Follow the instructions on the sealers.
STEP 5: Select different types of meats and cheeses. You can really add anything you want to these boards. Fruit, nuts, dips, olives, pickles, bite size appetizers, bread, crackers, and more.
STEP 6: Take your food to the reception in containers and have someone set it up right before the reception starts. Have several containers ready as refill food.
STEP 7: Start piling the food on the charcuterie and cheese board. Start with the crackers, piles of meats, cheeses, then add in the sauces, last add the fruit and nuts.
Bite size appetizers are also great wedding food ideas. Create mini caprese bites using these adorable Mini Forks. You can place different bite size appetizer throughout your wedding charcuterie and cheese board.
Order Personalized Wedding Napkins for the food table. These Silver Edge Dinner Plates are elegant looking, incredibly sturdy, and disposable!
Use a gorgeous Crochet Table Runner under your floral arrangements. I show you how to easily create this stunning silver dollar eucalyptus garland on the DIY Rustic Floral Pergola post. I talked about how to create these gorgeous box floral arrangements on the Wedding Cake Table post. Add Rose Votive Candlesthroughout the garland on the wedding food table for an extra touch of elegance.
Next you will want to head over to the How To Style a Bride and Groom Wedding Table post and see how easy it truly is! I will link you to a new post at the bottom like I did here. If you follow along it will take you in a circle back to the original post. That way you won’t have to miss anything!
