I recently got married…but kept things very small + very quiet in a bit of sweet irony with my profession. We actually tied the knot in our backyard of the house we just finished building and moved into…just the two of us but celebrated with cake, champagne and then a fun, fancy dinner out. We planted a dogwood tree (it’s the Virginia state tree + flower) together when we moved into the house which is the inspiration behind the cake design.
The bottom tier pear cake with blackberry preserves and white chocolate buttercream. The top tier was white velvet cake with chopped chocolate and peanut butter buttercream. The champagne coupes were Josh’s grandmothers while the cake server were my great grandmother’s.
